Permanent Make-up

Permanent makeup or PMU is the insertion of pigments into the dermis. This is done with a pen in which a needle / hygiene module is inserted. Other words for Permanent make-up, micro-pigmentation, dermatography and cosmetic pigmentation.

Permanent makeup is used to decorate eg eyebrows. Everything that normally is added with a pencil, can be placed on the skin with permanent make-up for a period of 2 to 3 years.
Other possibilities Permanent makeup are: eyeliners, lipliners, embellish full lips, rouge and scarring (scars white pigment in skin tones, also include vitiligo). Permanent makeup is applied in the Netherlands since 1988. Much longer it is applied in Korea and then America. One of the first books on PMU’s Lin Su Lin (anno 1978).

Permanent makeup is inserted into the dermis. This pigmentation is therefore not really permanent. By, inter alia, ultraviolet light and by the natural renewal of the skin due to abrasion and friction, the pigmentation will fade after 2 to 3 years.

Permanent makeup treatment usually involves 2 to 3 treatments. Recommended that the first treatment focuses on the individual needs, the shape and color of the pigment. Usually the result after the third treatment well and remain 2 to 3 years available. At least 6 weeks between each treatment are because the epidermis is back completely renewed. In a post-treatment should be taken into account.
